His previous films include ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’, inspired by Erich Maria Remarque’s 1928 novel for Netflix. It won seven BAFTA 2024 awards, including for Best Film, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Film Not in the English Language and won four Academy Awards, including Best International Feature.
