Aaron de Mey is a New York-based Makeup Artist and Beauty Consultant.

Born in New Zealand, de Mey is one of the most respected makeup artists in the beauty industry. Lauded for both his flawless natural makeup, making the skin look perfect without artifice, and his daring use of rich colours, vivid glitter and bold technique.

A Business of Fashion 500 member since 2013, heralded by Vogue as “one of a few makeup artists who can execute esoteric visions on the pages of magazines as well as forecast trends and develop products that women will want to wear in the real world,” de Mey was one of the first makeup artists to be appointed as Global Artistic Creative Director for iconic beauty giants Lancôme & Sephora. For seven consecutive years at Lancôme his many collections, including “Declaring Indigo” and “Pink Irreverence,” were widely acclaimed as some of the most successful in the brand’s history.

De Mey’s distinct vision, instincts and trend projections pave the way for what makeup is considered today, inspiring the industry with bold choices and encouraging those to take risks with beauty.

He continues to consistently collaborate with many of the world’s leading photographers and film directors including: Mario Sorrenti, Mert & Marcus, Inez & Vinoodh, Glen Luchford, Annie Leibovitz, Bruce Weber, Zoë Ghertner, David Lynch, Sofia Coppola, Harmony Korine, Greta Gerwig and Anton Corbijn.

De Mey’s portfolio boasts numerous covers and editorial shoots from many of the world’s top publications, and his impressive client list across campaigns and runway shows includes: Calvin Klein, Celine, Chloé, Comme des Garçons, Dior, Estée Lauder, Givenchy, Isabel Marant, Prada, Revlon, and Saint Laurent.

Throughout his career, de Mey has also worked with many leading actresses and musicians including: Kristen Stewart, Scarlett Johansson, Anne Hathaway, Emma Stone, Debbie Harry, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift and Rihanna.
