About the Artist
Holli Smith is a Brooklyn-based hair stylist who began her career cutting hair in her native San Francisco. In 2000, she moved to New York in search of a way to use her talents beyond the Salon. After two years, Smith’s drive and determination caught the attention of Guido Palau, who quickly made her a member of his team.
Smith’s dynamic and diverse approach is heavily influenced by the rave/dance culture of the early 2000’s, as well as her personal connection to the LGBTQ and Weirdo community. Her youthful, yet beautifully sophisticated aesthetic can be seen on the runways and advertising campaigns of brands such as Balenciaga, Acne, Opening Ceremony, Kenzo, Calvin Klein, Lanvin and Proenza Schouler, among others. Smith frequently collaborates with renowned photographers including Collier Schorr, Harley Weir, Ethan James Green, and Willy Vanderperre.
