An industry-leading augmented reality commerce experience spearheaded by creative director and Self Service founder Ezra Petronio. Pushing the boundaries of storytelling through the use of cutting-edge technology, this project brought the print magazine to life with models talking and walking out of the pages.

Self Service’s augmented reality project created a fully integrated e-commerce platform in partnership with leading retailers, including Byronesque, The Line, Luisaviaroma, Matches, The Webster, and RESEE.

Superimposing state-of-the-art technology on the retail environment

To support the launch of the Zara Studio collection, Petronio designed a custom Zara app utilizing AR technology that showed virtual renderings of real models within the Zara retail environment. Combining innovation, inspiration and additive technology, Petronio’s collaboration with Zara reimagined the conventional in-store shopping experience by sourcing inspiration from his earlier Self Service AR editorial.

Global Rollout

The app was rolled out across Zara’s global network of boutiques to heighten the impact of the new technology in the retail environment.
